At your first visit, The Dental Suite always schedules an intake. During this consultation, your medical history is reviewed, your teeth and gums are checked, and your wishes and treatment plan are discussed. If a dental cleaning is also carried out during the same appointment (above or below the gumline, sometimes called a deep cleaning), this is registered and billed as a separate treatment in addition to the intake. The corresponding fees are determined by the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa) and can be found in the tariff list.

In every tooth (also milk tooth) cavities can form. From an early age 2+ it is important that your child learns that dental and oral care is part of life. Try to make brushing your teeth a pleasant moment. This ensures that your child associates brushing their teeth with something fun.

The fun dental health activities, crafts, and games will help you to reinforce the concepts being taught. For children under the age of 18, this care is included within the health insurance. For children with orthodontic appliances, the advice to visit the Dental Hygienist is every 3 months for extra support for oral care.

The check up consists of a thorough check-up and if necessary drawing up a treatment plan.

But bad breath can also indicate other health problems. During this treatment we fight the symptoms and look at the cause of your bad breath.

Teeth whitening can be a very effective way of lightening the natural colour of your teeth without removing any of the tooth surface. It cannot make a complete colour change, but it may lighten the existing shade. During the preventive maintenance appointment, the Dental Hygienist can also introduce or explain the teeth whitening options available.

Periodontitis is a common infection that damages the soft tissue and the bone supporting the tooth. Without treatment, the bone around the teeth is slowly and progressively lost. The goal of periodontitis treatment is to thoroughly clean the areas around teeth and prevent damage to the surrounding bone. This will be discussed in detail within the first consultation.

Dental sealants are thin coatings that when painted on the chewing surfaces of the back teeth (molars) can prevent cavities (tooth decay) for many years. Sealants protect the chewing surfaces from cavities by covering them with a protective shield that blocks out germs and food.

Fluoride treatments re-mineralize tooth enamel and reduces sensitivity. Patients who undergo radiation treatment for cancer also benefit from topical fluoride applications.
