1. visit the dental hygienist amsterdam every 3 or 6 months

Seeing a dental hygienist regularly can help prevent gum problems. If there is gingivitis or periodontitis, the treatment can be done immediately. If treatment is started early enough, it can prevent further damage to the tissues of the teeth.

Ask your dental hygienist or dentist for a periodontal examination as part of your six-monthly checkup. Extra appointments for a professional dental cleaning or teeth cleaning by your dental hygienist is very important while having gum problems.

The time between appointments is usually three, four or six months. The frequency depends on the quality of your oral hygiene at home, the degree of inflammation of the gums and the presence of so-called residual gum pockets.
